Import CSV Record Data

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

JukeBox 6 can import data from a spreadsheet style file - a CSV (comma separated value) file may have other separators than a comma.  Other separators that JukeBox 6 can import are the semicolon (;), the tilde (~) and the pipe (|).   If you are exporting from an Excel spreadsheet to a CSV file you may want to change the separator before creating the CSV file.

The CSV Import function will import record data for files that meet the following criteria:

- The data must be delimited by either a comma, semicolon, tilde (~) or pipe (|).

- The file must have a header for the columns

Required fields are Artist(s) and  A and B Side Song Titles.

Optional fields are Location, Label, Catalog #, Condition, Style, Release Year and High Chart

If any of your data has the same character as the delimiter character then that record will not be imported correctly.  Example: if you are using the comma delimiter and you have the artist "Blood, Sweat and Tears"  the comma causes the import to not read the record correctly.  You will need to find those records and fix them afterwards.

The slide show below will demonstrate the import process.
