The simple Custom Filter dialog is opened when the (Custom...) option is selected from the Filter drop down list on a grid.
The Custom Filter dialog allows you to enter one or two parameters for the filter and the filter is applied to the column it was opened on.
Note: Filtering on any text with an apostrophe/single quote marker will not work and will cause an error - e.g. A Hard Day's Night.

To filter on dates you need to select one of the filterable date columns. You can pick a single date or a start and end date.
