When a new title strip artist name is entered the program will attempt to create a file name.  The Artist File Name window will appear with the initialized file name based on the title strip artist name that was entered.

Artist File Name

Clicking on the "Revert to [Title Strip Artist Name]" will replace the file name entry with the entered title strip name.

Here are the ways the file name will be initialized.  You can modify the file name at this time.  Press the enter key or click on the OK button to enter the file name.

A single name, such as CHER will be initialized without any changes as CHER.

If the Remove "THE" From Artist File Name option is checked on the Preferences screen then if there is "THE" at the start of the title strip artist name it will be removed.  So THE BEATLES file name will be initialized as BEATLES.  If not checked THE BEATLES will have the file name of BEATLES, THE.

If there is a comma (,), a slash (/) or an ampersand (&) in the title strip artist name the whole name will be treated as a single name.  So, for example, ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS file name will be initialized without any changes as ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS

If the word "AND", or "And" or "and" is in the title strip artist name the whole name will be treated as a single name.  So, for example, GERRY AND THE PACEMAKERS file name will be initialized without any changes as GERRY AND THE PACEMAKERS.

If none of the above conditions exist the artist file name will be initialized as [last name], [first name] .

oPAUL SIMON will be initialized as SIMON, PAUL - this is correct

oBAD COMPANY will be initialized as COMPANY, BAD - this is incorrect and you will need to modify it to read BAD COMPANY (clicking the Revert link will fix it right away).

oBILLY JOE ROYAL will be initialized as JOE ROYAL, BILLY - this is incorrect and you will need to modify it to read ROYAL, BILLY JOE

oAny artist name with 2 or more spaces will be initialized incorrectly and you will need to modify it.
